Do you still find ways to dance or perform?
I definitely still find ways to dance whenever I can. Whether it’s taking dance classes or jamming out to my favorite song in my car, I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t “bust a move.” As far as performing goes, I’m a pure barre instructor and I have to be “ON” for every class. It’s fun for me because for that hour, I’m the person that gets to inspire and push my clients to do their absolute best.
What is your favorite social media outlet?
I love Instagram. I could spend hours looking at fitness tips, recipes & fashion ideas. Who am I kidding, sometimes I do spend hours on there!
Name 1 fitness tip you would recommend for dancers and cheerleaders.
My #1 fitness tip for dancers/cheerleaders is EAT CLEAN. Your body is your tool and in order for it to look and feel its best you need to feed it the proper fuel. Just say NO to junk food!
What performer would you drop everything for to go and see?
I would drop everything to see Katy Perry! I love her energy and creativity. I also love that she stays true to her personality and values. The icing on the cake is that she loves bright colors and glitter! A girl after my own heart. I LOVE me some KATY PERRY!
What was your most memorable moment as a professional cheerleader?
OMG! I cannot pick just one memorable moment as a professional cheerleader! There have been so many. My first memorable moment was when I made my first professional team (ChivaGirls- Major League Soccer dancers for Chivas USA). I was stuck in traffic headed to work and I got a phone call from a girl I met at ChivaGirl auditions. She told me to look online because they posted the new team and I was on it! I didn’t believe her. As soon as I pulled in to work I looked for myself and there it was…my name! I finally made my first pro team! Needless to say, I walked into work late (I had to call my mom and tell her) crying tears of joy. This memory still makes me smile today.
What advice would you give to future cheerleaders auditioning for pro teams?
For any future cheerleaders auditioning for pro teams I would say do your research. Find out everything you can about the organization you’re auditioning for. Know what they value and what they look for in their team. From hair and make up, to dance style and audition attire. Most importantly NEVER give up. If you really want it, keep going back. Figure out what you need to work on and try out again. Some girls make it their first time, but a lot try out numerous times before they make it. Focus on being the best possible version of yourself. Leave it all on the floor.
What would be your dream job in the professional world of pro cheer?
My dream job in the professional world of pro cheer would be to become the director of my own pro team.
My dancing goal for the future is to become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.
What is your must have beauty item?
My must have beauty item is Carmex.
What is an inspirational quote you would like to share?
Whenever you find yourself doubting if you can go on, just remember how far you’ve come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won and all the fears you have overcome. Then raise your head high and forge on ahead, knowing that YOU GOT THIS!
